Individual Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a highly personal experience. I am trained in a range of approaches and techniques, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. During our initial sessions together, we will collaboratively develop goals for treatment and a treatment plan informed by evidence-based practice that feels right to you.

Couples Therapy

I practice a type of couples therapy known as Emotionally Focused Therapy, or EFT. In EFT, I help couples reverse the destructive patterns that undermine healthy relationships by building understanding of the emotions and needs that underlie our behavior toward each other and practicing better forms of communication with you in real time.

Trauma Focused Therapy

There is no one right way to treat trauma and its effects, whether upsetting childhood experiences, sexual assault, interpersonal violence, natural disaster, traumatic loss, trauma encountered in the line of duty such as by military veterans and first responders, or other. I provide a range of evidence-based interventions, including approaches designed to help process and resolve trauma such as Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), as well as approaches that focus on the effects of trauma rather than the trauma itself, such as Interpersonal Psychotherapy. I will discuss the various treatment options with you, and we will decide as a team which is right for you.

FAQ

Fees

Payment is due at the time of appointment. Sessions are usually scheduled for 50 minute increments. I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance, but I am happy to provide a billing invoice that can be submitted for insurance reimbursement.

What to expect during the first session

I usually conduct a brief consultation call prior to our first meeting to collect basic information and answer questions you may have. I may ask you to review and fill out some forms prior to our first scheduled session. We will usually spend our first few sessions together getting to know one another, establishing goals for treatment, and developing a treatment plan that fits your needs. In some instances, I may offer appropriate referrals rather than offer treatment directly. If you have questions or concerns, please ask!

Is telehealth safe? Is it secure?

Telehealth is a method of providing health services over video conferencing. I use a telehealth platform that is encrypted and secure to ensure your privacy and safety. Numerous research studies have shown telehalth treatment to be effective and satisfying.

What do I need to be seen via telehealth?

It's okay if you have not used telehealth before- I'm happy to explain it! You will need a stable internet connection, an internet-capable device equipped with a video camera and a microphone (such as a computer, laptop, or "smart" phone), and a private, secure location with good lighting. That's it!
